Did you know that less than 40% of Kazakhstanis understand the meaning of the term “gender equality”?

This fact was revealed by a new study conducted by UNDP and UN Women, which surveyed over 3,800 respondents across 17 regions and 3 cities of national significance.

October 8, 2025

On October 8, 2025, the second training session was held at Secondary School No. 97 named after Suranshy Batyr in the village of Aksu, within the framework of the project “Access to Justice for Women through the Promotion of Gender Equality”, implemented with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

September 26, 2025

On September 26, 2025, the first training session within the project “Access to Justice for Women through the Promotion of Gender Equality” took place at Secondary School No. 31 named after V. Tereshkova.

VISIT OF THE EMBASSY OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY TO THE OFFICE OF THE PA LCWI “SANA SEZIM”

On April 18, 2024, Ambassador Monica Iversen of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany visited the office of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” and got acquainted with the activities of the organization. We talked about more than 20 years of experience in the field of human rights protection, about ongoing projects, as well as about the prospects for documenting, preventing human trafficking, and protecting the rights of migrant workers.

We thank Ambassador Iversen for her interest and support. We look forward to further cooperation in the fight for human rights and the creation of a more just world.

SEMINAR "PROTECTION OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS: INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN APPROACHES"

On April 8, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan hosted a two-day seminar, organized with the support of the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Union (EU), dedicated to the protection of women's rights under the title “Protection of women's rights: international and European approaches”.

THE WORK OF A MOBILE GROUP IN THE CITY OF SHYMKENT.

A mobile group made a visit to raise public awareness about the problem of human trafficking and identify cases of labor exploitation, uniting the Department of Labor Inspection of Shymkent, the Department of Internal Affairs of Shymkent, the District Police and the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim”, on March 28, 2024, made a trip through the industrial zone of the city as part of the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Thanksto the diverse composition of the group, we were able to cover a wide range of issues and provide information materials on non-governmental organizations ready to help victims in this area throughout Kazakhstan.

WEBINAR ON CASE MANAGEMENT IN THE FIELD OF CHILD PROTECTION

Withinthe framework of the Winrock International project “Kazakhstan’s actions in combating child trafficking”, a webinar was held on March 27, 2024, with the support of the US Department of State, organized specifically for employees of the PA “Society of Women Small Entrepreneurs”, holders of micro grants of the project.

The purpose of this event was to provide technical support and advice on case management in the field of child protection. The participants of the webinar discussed various aspects of the work, exchanged experiences and began to solve the difficulties and challenges they face in the process of helping children in difficult life situations.

NATIONAL KURULTAI

On March 15, 2024, another National Kurultai was held in Atyrau with the participation of the Head of State, at which Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev separately noted that the number of cases related to domestic violence is growing in our country. Today we see that the Government openly declares the existing social problem among the population and is ready to act to take concrete measures and interact with all stakeholders, including, first of all, civil society.

The aim of this initiative is to raise public awareness of the problem of human trafficking and identify cases of labor exploitation.

The representative composition of the group made it possible to conduct an extensive coverage of the problem, as well as provide information materials on non-governmental organizations ready to help victims in this area throughout Kazakhstan.
