HUMAN RIGHTS TALKS – СЕРИЯ МЕРОПРИЯТИЙ, ПОСВЯЩЕННЫХ 10 ДЕКАБРЯ МЕЖДУНАРОДНОМУ ДНЮ ПРАВ ЧЕЛОВЕКА

On December 18, 2019, Public fund “Erkindik kanaty” organized “Human Rights Talks”, a series of actions devoted to the International Day of Human Rights, which is celebrated annually on December 10. Altynai Kambekova from the “Feminita”, Tatiana Chernobyl from the Amnesty International, a YouTube blogger Murat Daniyar, Shakhnoza Khassanova from the NGO “Sana Sezim” delivered a speech on the event.

WORKSHOP FOR NGOs AND CIVIL SERVANTS ON PROTECTION OF RIGHTS AND ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS AND VULNERABLE MIGRANTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

On December 12-13, 2019, a workshop was held in Almaty for NGOs and civil servants on protection of rights and assistance to victims of trafficking in persons and vulnerable migrants in the republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was opened by Secretary of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abishev T.D. under the auspices of the implementation of the recommendations of the Special Reports of the Commission on the protection of human rights in the field of combating human trafficking and protecting the rights of migrants in Kazakhstan.

ROUND TABLE ON PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THE TRAVEL AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRIES THROUGH POLICY ACTION AND ENGAGEMENT WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN THE CENTRAL ASIA

On 12 December 2019 in Nur-Sultan Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings OSCE conducted a round table on prevention of human trafficking in the travel and hospitality industries through policy action and engagement with the private sector in the Central Asia. The round table brought together representatives of civil society, government bodies, in particular ministries and departments on transport, communication and tourism from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "TOGETHER AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS"

November 25-27, 2019 in Taldykorgan, an international conference was organized by the NeMolchiKZ Public Foundation with the support of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Almaty Region, the UN Women in the Republic of Kazakhstan, OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan, ROO URANKZ, KUN.KZ, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

SEMINAR TRAINING «INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF LAWYERS OF THE NGO NETWORK OF KAZAKHSTAN AND UZBEKISTAN TO COOPERATE IN ASSISTING VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING»

On November 15-16, 2019 in Tashkent, a training seminar "Improving the capacity of lawyers of the NGO network of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to cooperate in assisting victims of human trafficking" was held. The seminar was organized by the RSIC “ISTIQBOLLI AVLOD”. The seminar was attended by lawyers from non-governmental organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The training allowed increasing the level of knowledge for specialists working to combat human trafficking.

ROUND TABLE «FAMILY NEEDS PROTECTION AND SUPPORT OF THE STATE»

Employees of NGO “Sana Sezim” took part in the round table “Family needs protection and support of the state”, which was held on November 12-13, 2019 in Almaty. The round table was organized by the Union of Crisis Centers with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Center for the Support of Civil Initiatives. During two working days of the round table, eight sessions were held, in which government officials and representatives of civil society, including members of the Union of Crisis Centers, actively participated.

REPUBLICAN FORUM OF CRISIS CENTERS AND SOCIAL SERVICES OF KAZAKHSTAN "SOCIAL INNOVATIONS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY" WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ONEGE PROJECT

NGO “Sana Sezim” was invited to participate in the Republican Forum of Crisis Centers and Social Services of Kazakhstan “Social Innovations for the Whole Family” within the framework of the ONEGE project, which was held on November 9-10, 2019. The organizers of the event are Center for the Support of Civil Initiatives, Public Foundation "Family Academy" with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ROUND TABLE “IDENTIFICATION AND PROVIDING LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO STATELESS PERSONS IN SOUTHERN KAZAKHSTAN”

On 11 November 2019 in Shymkent, a round table was held on “Identification and providing legal assistance to stateless persons in Southern Kazakhstan”, which brought together representatives of both government agencies and the non-governmental sector. Elina Yenikeyeva, a lawyer of NGO “Sana Sezim”, shared the results of the project “Providing Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons in South Kazakhstan”.

TRAINING “MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF PROJECTS”

On November 6, 2019 training on monitoring and evaluation of projects was conducted in Shymkent. The training was organized by the NGOs Bereke, CISC, the Ministry of Information and Public Development, etc. At the training, key concepts and differences between them were reviewed, lecture materials alternated with team assignments and exercises. Participants were representatives of public associations of Shymkent and Turkestan region.
