The organization of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” received a letter of thanks from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Almaty. We are proud that our contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has been noted! This is a recognition of the active role of our team in supporting important and long-term relations between the peoples of the two countries. Thank you for your trust and promise to continue our pursuit of peace and cooperation!

CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN KASSYM-JOMART TOKAYEV

On the eve of International Women's Day, March 08, 2024, the director of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim”, Shakhnoza Khassanova, received congratulations from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The congratulations from the President were presented by Akim of Shymkent Syzdykbekov Gabit Abdimazhitovich. This is a pleasant confirmation that our efforts and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thanks to the whole team for their contribution and perseverance! Together we will continue our work in protecting the rights of our beneficiaries.

THE SENATE DISCUSSED ISSUES OF IMPROVING THE PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS OF MIGRANTS AND VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

On February 28, 2024, the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed issues of improving the protection of the rights of migrants and victims of human trafficking.

Deputiesof the Senate Committee on Constitutional Legislation, the Judiciary and Law Enforcement Agencies held a meeting on the topic "Current problems of protecting the rights of migrant workers and victims of human trafficking in the Republic of Kazakhstan". This event brought together key representatives of the Government and international organizations, as well as civil society activists.

THE VISIT OF THE CONSUL GENERAL OF FRANCE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PA LCWI “SANA SEZIM”

The Consul General of France in Almaty, Fabrice Neveu, visited the office of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” on February 20, 2024. During the meeting, the organization's project activities in the field of combating human trafficking, documenting stateless persons and preventing domestic violence were presented. This visit demonstrated the importance of international cooperation in the fight against social problems.

AS PART OF THE AKELIUS INITIATIVE, AN OPEN LESSON WAS HELD WITH STUDENTS LEARNING RUSSIAN

The Akelius initiative, aimed at improving the language literacy of children in the context of migration processes, continues its activities in the city of Shymkent.

Aspart of this initiative, teachers of M.Zhumabayev Secondary School No. 39 took an active part by holding an open lesson of the Russian language in the 3rd grade with the Kazakh language of instruction on February 8, 2024. The topic of the lesson was devoted to musical instruments, which contributes not only to the assimilation of new knowledge, but also to the development of a new language and culture.

AN INCLUSIVE PREVENTIVE AND INFORMATIONAL EVENT ON THE PROBLEM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING FOR STUDENTS

Another information event for college students on combating human trafficking was held on February 7, 2024, at the State Municipal state-owned Enterprise "College of Light Industry and Service" of the Department of Education of the city of Shymkent.

The event was attended by 80 participants, which makes up 4 groups of students. For a group of students with hearing impairments, information was disseminated using sign language translation.

REPUBLICAN SEMINAR ON THE EDUCATION OF MIGRANT CHILDREN

On February 1, 2024, the Republican seminar "An inclusive approach to the integration of migrant children in education" was held. This event was held within the framework of the project (IOM SBCC) "Protection of vulnerable migrants with a special focus on the empowerment of women in the context of migration in Central Asia" with the support of the IOM of Kazakhstan and financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

INTERNATIONAL ROUND TABLE "IMPROVING MECHANISMS FOR THE PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES"

On January 31, 2024, an international round table "Improving mechanisms for the prevention of human trafficking in Central Asian countries" was held. This event is an annual January event of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized jointly with the OSCE Program Office as a regional hub for combating global threats.

Duringthe round table, an analysis of the current state of anti-trafficking policy in the Central Asian region was carried out. The participants discussed innovative approaches and prevention measures for human trafficking and identified gaps in the prevention of human trafficking.

WEBINAR ON BEST PRACTICES FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN AFFECTED BY HUMAN TRAFFICKING

On January 29, 2024, a webinar on best practices for working with children affected by child trafficking was held for the International Justice Organization Women's Club as part of the Eurasia Foundation's P2P project.

Thisseminar was held with the participation of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim”. The director of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim”, Khassanova Shakhnoza, shared her valuable experience of working with children who have become victims of human trafficking. Her presentation highlighted not only the difficulties faced by children in such situations, but also the best approaches and methods to help them recover and adapt.
