A REPORTING MEETING OF THE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN, FAMILY AND DEMOGRAPHIC POLICY UNDER THE SHYMKENT CITY AKIM

On September 25, 2020, a reporting meeting of the Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the Shymkent city Akim was held with the participation of the Chairwoman of the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, L.K. Ramazanova.

MEETING OF THE COORDINATING COUNCIL WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROJECT "PROTECTION OF CHILDREN IN MIGRATION PROCESSES IN SHYMKENT AND TURKESTAN REGION"

On September 24, 2020,a meeting of the Coordinating Council within the framework of the project "Protection of Children in Migration Processes in Shymkent and Turkestan region" with the support of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the European Union was held in the office of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim." The meeting was attended by representatives of all stakeholders of city and regional level involved in working with children in migration processes (CMP), such as the Department of Migration Service of the PD, the Department of Education, the Department of Health, the Department of Labor and Social Protection, etc.

HUMANITARIAN AID IN THE FORM OF HOT FOOD FOR MIGRANT WORKERS AT THE ZHIBEK ZHOLY CHECKPOINT

On September 16 and 17 of 2020,employees of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” as part of the joint implementation of the project “Safe Migration in Central Asia” with the Winrock International, funded by the USAID provided humanitarian assistance in the form of distribution of hot meals to 250 migrants from Tajikistan on the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan (at the “Zhibek Zholy” checkpoint). Tajik citizens were detained at the border waiting for their return to their homeland during the COVID-19.

THE ONLINE TRAINING "HELPING CHILDREN AFFECTED BY SEXUAL EXPLOITATION"

From September 15 to September 18, 2020,the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” had held a four-day online training on "Helping Children Affected by Sexual Exploitation" on the ZOOM platform. Heads, lawyers and representatives of NGO partners of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” participated in the training. The training was organized as part of the project "Together against human trafficking through capacity-building of CSOs!" The coaches were Rusakova Maya and Avdeeva Vladlena from the NGO "Stellit".

COMMISSION FOR DISTRIBUTION OF TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT AMONG SCHOOL STUDENTS OF SHYMKENT

On September 17, 2020,the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” acted as a member of the commission for the distribution of technical equipment among students of schools in the city of Shymkent. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan will send more than 37,000 technical equipment (tablet, laptop, PC) to provide distance education for children from low-income families and children in difficult life situations. Мore than 3,700 technical equipment received Department of education of the Shymkent city аt the first stage will be distributed among schools in the city of Shymkent.

THE ONLINE TRAINING "HELPING CHILDREN AFFECTED BY SEXUAL EXPLOITATION"

On September 15, 2020,the four-day online training "Helping Children Affected by Sexual Exploitation" has begun. This training is intended for lawyers/representatives of NGO partners of the PA “LCWI ‘Sana Sezim’” as part of the project “Together against Human Trafficking through capacity building of CSOs!”.

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN "STOP TRAFFIC"

On September 14, 2020,the employees of the PA “LCWI ‘Sana Sezim’” together with the Departments of Criminal Police of the city of Shymkent and the Turkestan Region, conducted information campaigns "Stop Traffic" in the migration center of the city of Shymkent and on the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan at the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint. As part of the information campaign, masks, booklets with contacts of the organization and brief information on the provision of free legal assistance to migrants were distributed.

PA LCWI “SANA SEZIM" HAS LAUNCHED THE “SAFE MIGRATION PROJECT” IN SHYMKENT AND TURKESTAN REGION

PA LCWI “Sana Sezim" has launched the “Safe Migration Project” in Shymkent and Turkestan region. The project is carried out with financial support of USAID’s “Safe migration in Central Asia” project, implemented by Winrock International. The aim of the project is to raise awareness on Countering Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) and safe migration among the at-risk population (particularly designated for different groups, including youth, men and women) using innovative methods through social networking and ICT tools, printing and distribution of information materials where it’s necessary.

HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO MIGRANT WORKERS AT THE ZHIBEK ZHOLY CHECKPOINT

September 2nd, 2020again, more than 300 migrants, including women and children, gathered at the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan at Zhibek Zholy checkpoint in Saryagash district of Turkestan region. All of them waited for the opportunity to return home to Tajikistan in transit through Uzbekistan.
