On March 29-30, 2023in Shymkent the training on "Methodology of investigation of criminal cases related to labor exploitation. Execution of supervision and maintenance of public prosecution in court". The opening event, organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Astana, began with opening remarks by Sara D'Amico, Head of the Human Dimension Unit at the OSCE Programme Office in Astana and Marat Yerzhan, Deputy Prosecutor of Shymkent city.

The two-day training aimed to increase the capacity of 20 Shymkent city prosecutors. The training covered general characteristics of crimes related to human trafficking, problems of investigating criminal cases of labor exploitation, identifying victims of human trafficking and methods of supervising criminal cases. In addition, representatives of the Academy of Law Enforcement Authorities under the General Prosecutor's Office (Seitayeva Zhanar, Kim Evgeniy, Naymanova Dinara) explained the specifics of oversight in criminal cases involving human trafficking through practical exercises, thus facilitating effective consolidation of the participants' knowledge. Khassanova Shakhnoza, Director of NGO "Sana Sezim", shared the experience of the center on human trafficking. In addition to the theoretical part, working in small groups, the participants also improved their practical skills. We hope that as a result of the event, the investigation of crimes related to human trafficking in Shymkent will have high rates.
