SEMINAR-MEETING ON THE "PROTECTION OF MINORS' RIGHTS"

On March 18, 2021,the Industrial and Technical College organized a seminar-meeting on the "Protection of Minors' Rights". Representatives of education, health and law enforcement agencies working directly with minors and their parents discussed the rights of minors in the Republic of Kazakhstan and at the international level. In the framework of the joint project with the UNHCR, Elina Yenikeyeva, who is a lawyer of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim", made a presentation on "The protection of the rights of minors, problematic issues in the documentation of minors".

MEETING TO DISCUSS THE ACTIVITIES OF THE REGIONAL IAC AND INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN COUNTERING TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS

On March 19, 2021representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Police Department, the State Labor Inspectorate, the Prosecutor's Office and the Akimat of Turkestan Province, the UN IOM and the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" discussed current legislative work, the activities of the regional interdepartmental commission, the work of the pilot mobile groups, and international experience in combating human trafficking. During the event, the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" shared the results of mobile groups' visits to 10 districts of Turkestan region and planned visits to other districts.

THE CENTRAL ASIAN FORUM "THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN FOSTERING PEACE, TRUST AND SECURITY"

On March 16, 2021the Central Asian Forum "The Role of Women in Fostering Peace, Trust and Security" held in the city of Ashgabat in the format of a video conference, provided an excellent opportunity for representatives of national governments, experts of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and representatives of civil society from Central Asia to analyze the progress of gender equality in the region.

The conference consisted of several sessions where forum participants shared the challenges, they face in meeting their political commitments to gender equality. In the IV session of the conference, the director of the NGO "Sana Sezim" Shakhnoza Khassanova made a report.

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN WITH EMPLOYEES OF THE MIGRATION SERVICE AT THE MIGRATION UNIT OF THE KARATAU DISTRICT POLICE DEPARTMENT OF SHYMKENT

On March 15, 2021Under the joint project with the UNHCR "Provision of legal assistance to stateless persons in Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl regions and Shymkent city", employees of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" together with employees of the Migration Service conducted an information campaign which was held at the Migration Unit of the Karatau District Police Department, located in the Karatau District Population Service Center.

The staff of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" and the Migration Service informed the residents of Shymkent and visitors to the PSC about the problems of undocumented persons and about the assistance provided by the organization as part of the project.

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN IN THE MIGRATION UNIT OF THE YENBEKSHI DISTRICT POLICE DEPARTMENT OF SHYMKENT

On March 11, 2021with the support of the UNICEF Children's Fund, the European Union and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Kazakhstan an information campaign was conducted as part of the project "Protection of Children in Migration Processes in Shymkent and Turkestan Province". Together with the staff of the Migration Service, the information campaign was held in the Migration Unit of the Yenbekshi District Police Department.

The staff of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" and the Migration Service informed visitors about the problems of children during migration and about the assistance provided by the organization within the project.

THE SIXTH SESSION OF THE SMART NAVIGATOR PROGRAM

On March 10, 2021as part of the Safe Migration in Central Asia project, the sixth session of the Smart Navigator Program was held at the Industrial and Technical College. Participants learned how emotions can influence decision-making during migration and discussed the types of communication that help young people make decisions. In mini groups, program participants discussed and gave presentations about managing emotions and positive thinking. We hope that this session on life skills will be useful for students in their daily lives.

VISITS AND MEETINGS WITH LOCAL ADMINISTRATION REPRESENTATIVES, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND THE POPULATION OF ORDABASY AND BAYDIBEK REGIONS OF TURKESTAN

On March 8, 2021in the framework of the pilot project on creation of mobile groups in the regions for information and preventive work in the field of combating trafficking in persons visits and meetings with local administration representatives, law enforcement agencies and the population of Ordabasy and Baydibek regions of Turkestan oblast were organized. With the support of the Migration Agency of the UN, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

WEBINAR ON THE TOPIC "ADVOCACY AS A SOCIAL TECHNOLOGY"

March 10, 2021 a regular webinar on "Advocacy as a social technology" was held. Svetlana Ushakova, director of the Institute for National and International Development Initiatives, an expert on gender equality of the OSCE since 2020, coordinator of the Civil Control coalition, was invited as an expert.

CONDUCTED ANOTHER INFORMATION CAMPAIGN IN KAZYGURT DISTRICT OF TURKESTAN OBLAST

On March 4, 2021the workers of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" within the framework of the project "Safe Migration in Central Asia" funded by the USAID and implemented by the Winrock International conducted another information campaign in Kazygurt district of Turkestan oblast.

The project lawyer informed the population of Kazygurt about the problem of human trafficking, gave recommendations on safe migration and explained which organizations provide assistance to victims of human trafficking. He also provided information about the activities of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" in the framework of the project.

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN ON COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SAFE MIGRATION IN TOLEBI DISTRICT OF TURKESTAN REGION

On March 3, 2021within the project "Safe Migration in Central Asia" funded by the USAID and implemented by the Winrock International, the workers of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" conducted an information campaign on combating human trafficking and safe migration in Tolebi district of Turkestan region.

Types of human trafficking, methods used by traffickers to recruit potential victims, identification and assistance to victims of human trafficking were explained to the audience; informational materials were distributed and types of assistance provided under the project "Safe Migration in Central Asia" were explained.
