On April 11, 2023staff members of NGO "Sana Sezim" and specialists from the Unit for Protection of Women from Violence and Juvenile Inspection of Turan District of DP Shymkent held a training on domestic violence at the College of Light Industry and Service.

Students learned not only how to recognize and prevent domestic violence, but also understood that it is important to help victims of violence not only for them, but also for the entire society. With a wealth of experience in the field, the experts shared real-life stories and discussed with the students the main challenges faced by victims of violence and those who help them.

Let's hope that working together will be successful and lead to a better life for many people.

On April 7-8, 2023,in the city of Shymkent, the training "Domestic violence as a human rights violation" was held for representatives of law enforcement agencies of the Turkestan region with success!

The training was attended by 33 representatives of the inspectors of the Unit for the Protection of Women from Violence and the Units for Juvenile Affairs of the Police Department of the Turkestan region. Over the course of two days, various forms of domestic violence, the impact on society and the mechanism for providing assistance to victims were studied.

On April 6, 2023in order to inform residents and guests of Shymkent about domestic violence, an information campaign was organized at the city level.

Representatives of NGO "Sana Sezim", MPI "Center for Special Social Services № 3", the Department of Police of Al-Farabi, Abay, Enbekshi, Karatau and Turan districts Police Department of Shymkent city and district akimats explained the relevance of the problem of domestic violence. During the event the types of violence, assistance provided to victims and planned activities in the city of Shymkent, were explained to raise public awareness.

On March 29-30, 2023in Shymkent the training on "Methodology of investigation of criminal cases related to labor exploitation. Execution of supervision and maintenance of public prosecution in court". The opening event, organized by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Astana, began with opening remarks by Sara D'Amico, Head of the Human Dimension Unit at the OSCE Programme Office in Astana and Marat Yerzhan, Deputy Prosecutor of Shymkent city.

On March 30, 2023 the Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised the issue of human trafficking at the First session of the VIII convocation of Parliament.

"Another serious problem in the law enforcement sphere is human trafficking. A special law should be adopted to prevent this. Such a law provides protection and social support for victims of human trafficking. This is very important in the context of global and regional forced migration processes, which intensifies every day"– Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

On March 17, 2023, monitoring visit to Shymkent city by representatives of UNICEF was held during the implementation of the project "Improving Russian language skills among vulnerable groups of children to integrate and improve learning outcomes, especially children in migration processes and children who have returned from conflict zones".

The three-day webinar "Introduction to Communication for Development (C4D) and Communication for Social and Behavioral Change (SBC)" organized by Winrock International as part of the USAID Safe Migration in Central Asia project came to an end.

On March 3, 2023 in the office of NGO "Sana Sezim" in the city of Shymkent two trainings on "Women's Rights. Participation of Women in the Affairs of the State" for representatives of the Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the Akim of Shymkent city, Departments of Education and Health, civil society and youth.
The purpose of the trainings was to raise awareness of women's rights, support and promote women's participation in public affairs.

From February 20 to 24, 2023, lawyers of NGO "Sana Sezim" and representatives of the Migration Department of the Police Department of Turkestan oblast conducted field meetings with the population of Maktaaral, Shardara, Saryagash, Keles and Sairam districts of Turkestan oblast to provide mobile legal aid to undocumented people.

Purpose:informing and identifying stateless persons, as well as undocumented persons among vulnerable segments of the population for further provision of free legal assistance in documenting.

In the city of Shymkent, diplomats of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Almaty and lawyers of the NGO "Sana Sezim" held a mobile reception of citizens.

During the reception, people who have problems with documents had the opportunity to get answers to their questions from diplomats and lawyers. Also during the event, new aspects of cooperation between the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Almaty and NGO "Sana Sezim" were discussed.
