XXII CONFERENCE OF THE ALLIANCE AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS WITH THE THEME “PROTECTION: UPHOLDING VICTIMS’ RIGHTS AND STRENGTHENING ASSISTANCE”

From April 4 to 6, 2022, the 22nd conference of the Alliance against Trafficking in Persons takes place in Vienna, Austria, with the theme “Protection: upholding victims’ rights and strengthening assistance”. The focus is on protection and assistance - and in particular on a victim-centered approach to supporting victims of trafficking and protecting their rights.

The conference examines how to better identify and assist victims, taking into account their individual needs, ensuring that such assistance is provided unconditionally to all victims and adhering to the principles of non-punishment and non-discrimination. Representatives from NGOs, governments of participating countries, and international organizations interested in fighting human trafficking participate in the conference. Director of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" Shakhnoza Khassanova participates in the conference on behalf of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim", moreover will speak at the session "Ensuring protection of all victims". On the first day of the conference, participants discussed "Building Effective Protection Systems" and considered current efforts to protect victims of trafficking by analyzing existing protection systems and victim-centered approaches in the OSCE region.
