IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT "IMPROVING RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SKILLS AMONG VULNERABLE GROUPS OF CHILDREN FOR INTEGRATION AND IMPROVING LEARNING OUTCOMES, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN IN MIGRATION PROCESSES AND CHILDREN RETURNED FROM CONFLICT ZONES"

The PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" in Shymkent city and Turkestan region together with the representative office of UNICEF in the RK and the Committee for Pre-school and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of RK started the project: "Improving Russian language skills among vulnerable groups of children for integration and improving learning outcomes, especially children in migration processes and children returned from conflict zones" from July 15, 2021.

This project envisages the use of the Akelius educational initiative to develop pan-European language competencies: 6 levels of literacy among children exposed to migration processes (children in transit, refugee and migrant children, children from ethnic and linguistic minorities, children returned from war zones). Recent data on the implementation of language courses on the Akelius platform have proven that digital content improves students' language skills. What's more, using digital language courses in classrooms increases student confidence, improves attendance and reduces dropout rates. The interactive nature of the course with games and instant feedback increases engagement and promotes peer support for learners. The individualized "blended learning" approach benefits learners, especially those at lower levels of learning.
