According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during the quarantine period the level of domestic violence increased by 41.7%. Although quarantine measures have been relaxed throughout the country, women and children are still struggling with the consequences of the deteriorating physical and psychological condition.

On July 7, 2021 in order to raise public awareness about the types, consequences of domestic violence, identification of victims of domestic violence and provision of affordable assistance to victims, an information island was organized at the Employment and Social Protection Centre in Shymkent city. Employees of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim", NGO "Mother’s House", "Samgau Senim" Centre, and the Women's Protection from Violence Unit of the Police Department participated in the information campaign. The population was provided with handouts with necessary information, as well as a free consultation of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" lawyer on family and domestic issues.
