ROUND TABLE ON "IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL NORMS AND PRINCIPLES FOR ENSURING HUMAN RIGHTS"
October 18, 2019 in the Shymkent city court, a round table was held on "Implementation of international norms and principles for ensuring human rights." During the meeting, judges of Shymkent city court A. Chokmorova, coordinator of the Center for Women's Initiatives of the Sana-Sezim Public Association R. Khudaishukurova, judges I. Gavrikova and A. Nurmanbetova presented their reports.
Opening the session, the chairman of the judicial board for criminal cases of the Shymkent city court E. Zhangazin emphasized the need to apply international laws and conventions in cases provided by law. International standards for the protection of human rights are of particular importance when considering civil and criminal cases in the courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Torture and violence against prisoners and suspects has been abolished, and judges should pay more attention to such cases. The round-table participants were also shown a video on Human Rights, after which they had the opportunity to exchange views.
