The round table "Improvement of inter-regional cooperation in terms of advancement of factors for social integration of migrants in the receiving community" was held within the frameworks of Regional program on migration in Central Asia, on the 22 February 2011, in Shymkent. Representatives of Akhimiat of Almaty, SKO Akhimiat, ethno cultural centers (diasporas), NGO, Government of Moscow, Regional offices of UN- Women for Eastern Europe ad Central Asia took part in the work of the round table.

There have been discussed the mechanisms for the effective management of migration processes in the context of the social integration of migrants in the action of executive bodies. There have been introduced the experience of the Moscow Government in addressing issues of social cohesion of the receiving society. 

Training "Interaction with the media in covering the topics of labor migration" for employees of public institutions in Almaty and South Kazakhstan was held from the 23 to 24^th February 2011.

The aim of the training: improving the mechanisms for interaction with the media for effective coverage of the topic of labor migration.

Objectives: To raise awareness among the state agencies concerning the issues of cooperation with the media in covering the topics of labor migration; to improve participants' knowledge and skills to participate in activities with the media.
