September 14-15, 2009 President of NGO “Sana Sezim”, Khadicha Abysheva, participated in the 9th international conference “ALLIANCE AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS”, Prevention of Modern Slavery: “An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure” in Vienna, Austria. The global economic crisis has diminished employment opportunities, which has increased the risk of million to labor and sexual exploitation. As of now, this problem is the focus of the OSCE. Participants included leaders of NGOs, as well as members of the media. The conference focused on best practices regarding human rights, including the role and responsibility of the media in covering issues related to human trafficking.
