Trafficking and slavery - not anywhere.
We have them. Do you not know?

How many people from South Kazakhstan respond to the announcements of tempting, well-paid work abroad and later find themselves in situations of slavery? Such statistics do not. However, we have examples of when our fellow citizens get involved foreign enterprises, but instead of working as nannies and housekeepers they become prostitutes in the brothels. Society should be more fully informed about this issue and form a position that can serve as a barrier against human trafficking.
Law enforcement agencies have noted that the illegal removal of people of working age from SKO has recently gaining momentum. Moreover, that it is one of the largest illegal business activities. A lack of official statistics on trafficking, especially of women, creates the conditions for its prosperity in Kazakhstan.
To fill the information gap on this issue, the Legal Center for Women’s Initiatives “Sana Sezim”, with financial support from Commission for the Development of Democracy at the U.S. Embassy, is conduction training seminars in Shymkent. The topics of these are “Preventing traffic of SKO women in the country and abroad”.
During two days participants will receive training from experienced trainers and reflect on the theme “What is trafficking?, “The origins of the problem”, “Women's Motives for departure abroad”, “The situation in the countries of arrival and departure from it”, “Building a Law “, etc… and then they will convey the information to the people of the South Kazakhstan Region. Revision “UK” - one of the sponsors of this information seminar.
