INFORMATION CAMPAIGN "STOP TRAFFIC"

On September 14, 2020,the employees of the PA “LCWI ‘Sana Sezim’” together with the Departments of Criminal Police of the city of Shymkent and the Turkestan Region, conducted information campaigns "Stop Traffic" in the migration center of the city of Shymkent and on the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan at the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint. As part of the information campaign, masks, booklets with contacts of the organization and brief information on the provision of free legal assistance to migrants were distributed.

PA LCWI “SANA SEZIM" HAS LAUNCHED THE “SAFE MIGRATION PROJECT” IN SHYMKENT AND TURKESTAN REGION

PA LCWI “Sana Sezim" has launched the “Safe Migration Project” in Shymkent and Turkestan region. The project is carried out with financial support of USAID’s “Safe migration in Central Asia” project, implemented by Winrock International. The aim of the project is to raise awareness on Countering Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) and safe migration among the at-risk population (particularly designated for different groups, including youth, men and women) using innovative methods through social networking and ICT tools, printing and distribution of information materials where it’s necessary.

HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO MIGRANT WORKERS AT THE ZHIBEK ZHOLY CHECKPOINT

September 2nd, 2020again, more than 300 migrants, including women and children, gathered at the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan at Zhibek Zholy checkpoint in Saryagash district of Turkestan region. All of them waited for the opportunity to return home to Tajikistan in transit through Uzbekistan.

NGO "Sana Sezim" with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan continues its work to assist women and their children who have experienced domestic violence.

MEETING ON INTER-DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSE TO GENDER VIOLENCE IN CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES

On August 17-18, 2020,in Turkestan, government agencies, civil sector, development partners and international organizations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held an online meeting to discuss and study the experience of mechanisms of the national interagency system for responding to gender-based violence. The exchange of experience between the countries of Central Asia was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening national capacities to improve the prevention and response of gender-based violence in Central Asia”, implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with financial support from the UK government.

WEBINAR DEDICATED TO DISCUSSION OF THE VICTIM CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (VCMS)

August 20, 2020employees of NGO "Sana Sezim" took part in the discussion of the Victim Case Management System (VCMS) on Zoom platform. This meeting was organized by the staff of the SMICA project, in which the VCMS team from the NGO “Liberty shared”, representatives of non-governmental organizations from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan took part. The team demonstrated the VCMS so that the participants had an idea of what the system is and how it works. Further, current VCMS users such as “The Freedom Story” (Thailand), “HAART” (Kenya), “HELP for Domestic Workers” (Hong Kong), Willow International (Uganda) shared their experience of using the system in their work. The meeting ended with a Q&A session.

THREE-DAY TRAINING ON VISUALIZATION

From 17 to 19 August 2020 a three-day training on visualization was organized, where new options for searching and checking information using Internet resources, new methods and algorithms for finding victims of traffickig in modern society, using resources and messengers and the Internet were considered. The issues of presenting information in modern society, for maximum coverage of society were also discussed. Artem Tarassov was the speaker.

WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF A JOINT PROJECT WITH THE UNITED NATIONS CHILDREN'S FUND (UNICEF) FUNDED BY THE EU, ANOTHER HUMANITARIAN AID WAS ORGANIZED

August 14 2020within the framework of a joint project with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) "Protection of Children in Migration Processes", funded by the EU, another humanitarian aid in the form of hygiene products and personal protective equipment was organized to migrants from Tajikistan stranded on the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Migrants at the Zhybek Zholy checkpoint previously carried out labor activities in different cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and found themselves in a vulnerable position in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, as they did not manage to leave the Republic of Kazakhstan before the borders were closed.

THE 3RD FORUM OF SOCIAL WORKERS ORGANIZED BY THE MINISTRY OF LABOR AND SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

On August 12, 2020the organization NGO "Sana Sezim" took part in the 3rd Forum of Social Workers organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MLSPP), which was held on ZOOM platform. The forum was attended by 500 participants, representatives of government agencies and university teachers, as well as foreign colleagues, speakers from Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and the United States.
