Training ”Protection of Rights and Provision of Services: Victims of Trafficking in Persons”

From 16 – 17 June 2016, the training “Protection of Rights and Provision of Services: Victims of Trafficking in Persons” took place in Almaty and was organized by IOM of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Purpose of the training:increase knowledge and skills of social workers from the public and non-governmental sector that are necessary to protect rights and provide social services to victims of human trafficking. From the NGO “Sana Sezim” participated Shahlo Yuzupshanova.

Regional Thematic Training Seminar “Access of Migrant Workers to Protection Mechanisms”

From 6 – 7 June 2016, the regional thematic training seminar “Access of Migrant Workers to Protection Mechanisms” took place in Almaty.

The purposeof the regional thematic training seminar was to strengthen the capacity of participating countries and non-governmental organizations (from the NGO "Sana Sezim" took part - Zhekenov Daulet) in search of solutions to difficult problems in the field of access of migrant workers to protection mechanisms in Kazakhstan.

Training “Human Rights and Fair Employment of Foreign Labor Force”

From 2 – 3 June2016 the training “Human Rights and Fair Employment of Foreign Labor Force” took place in the frame of USAID’s project “Dignity and Rights”, which was implemented by the International Organization of Migration (IOM) of Kazakhstan.

Training "Human Rights Standards: Monitoring Human Rights"

From 31 May - 1 June 2016, in Almaty, the training "Human Rights Standards. Monitoring of Human Rights Observance" took place within the framework of USAID's "Dignity and Rights" project, implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kazakhstan.

Field Meetings with District Representatives of State and Law Enforcement Agencies.

Within the framework of the project “Providing Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons” that is financially supported by UNHCR, field meetings were held with representatives of state and law enforcement agencies of the 4 districts of the South Kazakhstan region (Sayram, Tyulkubassky, Kazygurstky, Saryagashsky).

Internship on the Improvement of Professional Skills

From 6 – 19 February, 2016, an internship was undertaken to improve professional skills. As part of the project, two representatives of civil society from Kazakhstan (from the NGO "Sana Sezim" - Liliya Khaliulina) were sent to participate in a two-week internship in Russian organizations (Fund "PSP Foundation" St. Petersburg, "Civil Assistance" Moscow) on the protection of the rights of migrant workers.

Working meeting on realization in Kazakhstan of UN SC Resolution concerning Women and Peace and Security.

Within the peacemaking content of the Republic of Kazakhstan and realization of UN SC Resolution 1325 to increase the role of women in prevention and regulation of conflicts, UN Women in Central Asia has conducted a high-level meeting and round table in Astana on 26 – 27 November 2015. Heads of government ministries and departments have taken part with the purpose of further incorporation of recommendations into the new Strategy of Gender development for YY2017 – 2027.

Regional seminar “Elimination of statelessness in Central Asia countries”

On 5 November 2015, a Regional seminar “Elimination of statelessness in Central Asia countries” was conducted in Almaty for NGOs. Leading NGOs from all Central Asia regions have met in order to establish a regional network of NGOs to jointly solve the issues of prevention and reduction of absent nationality. NGO LCWI Sana Sezim was represented by Shakhlo Yussupzhanova and Liliya Khaliulina.

Visit of the Ambassador of Germany Dr. Guido Herz.

On 10 September 2015,a Training “Detection and identification of human traffic victims” for law-enforcement officials was held in the office of NGO LCWI Sana Sezim. Training was attended by the Ambassador of Germany in the Republic of Kazakhstan Dr. Guido Herz.

On 20 July 2015, representatives of NGO LCWI Sana Sezim have conducted training “Detection and identification of human traffic victims” for law-enforcement officials. This training was organized and conducted within the project “Protection of rights and legal interests of female labor migrants as potential human rights victims” under the financial support of German Foreign Ministry.
