On 18 May 2017, the third regional meeting of the Central Asian network on Statelessness was held in Almaty.

Purpose of the regional meeting:

On 21 April 2017, the working meeting on making proposals to the list of state social orders positions, providing free legal assistance to migrant workers in the South Kazakhstan region was held at the rooms of the NGO “Sana Sezim”.

Action "Family without Domestic Violence"

According to the plan of joint measures to implement the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Prevention of Domestic Violence" with the District Departments of the Interior (Al-Farabi, Abay, Enbekshinsky, Karatau districts), from 12 to 14 April 2017, the action "Family Without Domestic Violence" will be conucted in Shymkent.

Spring School "Gender-Oriented Budgeting: Practice and Mechanisms of Implementation in the RK by the Example of the South Kazakhstan and Zhambyl Oblasts!

From 28-31 March 2017, the Spring School “Gender-Oriented Budgeting: Practice and Mechanisms of Implementation in the RK by the Example of the South Kazakhstan and Zhambyl Oblasts!” for representatives of the state bodies and NGOs took place in Shymkent. The Spring School was organized by the Institute of Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities of Kazakhstan and the Foundation Friedrich Ebert in Kazakhstan.

Regional Working Meeting of Public Reception Specialists

From 21 – 21 February 2017, the regional working meeting of public reception specialists took place in Almaty. Purpose of the meeting: strengthening the expert potential of representatives of public reception centers by teaching methods and forms of protecting the rights of children on issues relating to their life, developing skills and abilities of working with children and young people.

Within two days the participants examined and reviewed the following sessions:

Training: “The Advocacy Process / Protection and Representation of Public Interests”

From1 – 3 February 2017, the training “The Advocacy Process/Protection and Representation of Public Interests” for representatives of non-governmental organizations took place in Almaty (the NGO “Sana Sezim” was represented by the participation of Shakhnosa Khassanova, Lilia Khalyulina).

The "Legal Center for Women's Initiatives “Sana Sezim” in conjunction with the Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the Akim of the South Kazakhstan Oblast, the Department for the Protection of Women from Violence of the Department of Internal Affairs of South Kazakhstan Republic from November 25, 2016 to December 10, 2016, conducts the International Campaign “16 Days without Violence".

Round Table “Identification and Provision of Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons in the SKO"

On 25 November 2016, the round table “Identification and Provision of Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons in the SKO” for representatives of state and law enforcement bodies took place in Shymkent. The round table was held within the framework of the project “”Provision of Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons” with the financial support of UNHCR.

 

Questionnaires within the Framework of USAID’s Project “Dignity and Rights”

The International Organization of Migration (IOM) invites to participate in the questionnaire within the framework of USAID’s project “Dignity and Rights”. Based on the collected data, it is planned to strengthen the cooperation with activists in the field of combating human trafficking, transnational slave trade and human rights, journalists and with state and local agencies authorized to regulate and resolve issues and problems related to labor migration and trafficking crimes.
