Information Campaign among the Population of the South Kazakhstan Region on Reducing Statelessness

On 9 February 2018, within the framework of a joint project with UNHCR, the NGO“Sana Sezim” started to conduct the large-scale information campaign among the population of the Kazakhstan region on reducing statelessness by distributing booklets and business cards.

Every year the NGO "Sana Sezim" takes an active part in the International Campaign "16 Days without Violence". Within the framework of this campaign, together with representatives of state and law enforcement bodies, various activities are held with the population according to the developed plan.

From 15 – 16 November 2017,the international conference (Trust Conference) on combating human trafficking was held in London. The Trust Conference is the world's leading anti-slavery and human trafficking forum that brings together global corporations, lawyers, government representatives and human rights defenders to take action.

Meeting on the Promotion of the System of Inter-Agency Response to Domestic Violence in the South Kazakhstan Region

From 9 – 10 November 2017, Shymkent hosted a meeting organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in conjunction with the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to promote the system of inter-agency response to domestic violence in South Kazakhstan region and consultation on the adaptation of standard procedures for providing services for survivors.

This event consisted of two components:

Working Meetings on Identification and Provision of Free Legal Assistance to Stateless Persons in the Regions Kyzylorda and Zhambyl

On 27 September and 29 September 2017, working meetings on identification and provision of free legal assistance to stateless persons were held with representatives of state and law enforcement agencies of the regions Kyzylorda and Zhambyl. The representatives of the Depatrtmant of Education, Department of Health, Department of Justice and migration services of the two regions took an active part.

Technical Expert Meeting on SDG statistics

From 15-27 September 2017, the technical meeting on SDG statistics was held in Borovoye.

The main issue of the program of the annual session of the UN General Assembly this week will be the assessment of global progress in achieving the "Sustainable Development Goals" (SDG), the UN consensus road map designed to solve the world's biggest problems by 2030.
