The World Day against Trafficking in Persons is celebrated annually on 30 July and our organization actively takes part.
Regional Seminar “Needs and Rights of Women and Girls affected by Labor Migration in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and Ways of their Implementation”
From 24 – 25 June 2018 the Central Asian regional seminar “Needs and Rights of Women and Girls affected by Labor Migration in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and Ways of their Implementation” was held in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe.
Regional Conference “No One should be forgotten at Birth”
From 7 – 8 June 2018, the regional conference on the right to establish legal personality and to prevent statelessness “No One should be forgotten at Birth” was held in Almaty. The conference was organized by MJ RK, UNHCR, UNICEF and UNESCAP. The participants were representatives of the governments from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as NGOs from Central Asia.
Briefing: “Every Child has the Right to Birth Registration!”
On 1 June 2018, the international day of protection of the child, the employees of the NGO “Sana Sezim” organized the briefing “Every Child has the Right to Birth Registration!” for the media.
International Round Table “Sharing Best Practices on Combating Trafficking in human Persons and Illegal Migration”
From 30 – 31 May 2018, the high-level round table on “Sharing Best Practices on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Illegal Migration”organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the US Embassy (INL in Astana, Tashkent and Bishkek) and the OSCE Office of Programs in Astana was held in Shymkent.
18th Conference of the Alliance to Combat Trafficking in Persons
From 23 – 24 April 2018, the 18th conference of the alliance to combat trafficking in persons was held in Vienna, Hofburg (Austria).
Training for Members of the ASTRA Network
From 23 – 24 April 2018, the training on the use of international tools and mechanisms in the field of human rights took place in Zagreb (Croatia).
Seminar Consultation on Increasing the Capacity of NGOs and Representatives of State Bodies working with Children who Committed Offenses
On 18 April 2018, the seminar consultation on increasing the capacity of NGOs and representatives of state bodies working with children who committed offences was held for 30 juvenile justice professionals in Shymkent.
FIDH Round Table for Affiliates and Partners from Central Asia
From 26-27 February 2018, the FIDH round table for FIDH affiliates and partners from Central Asia was held in Geneva. Representatives of NGOs from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took part in the round table (Lilia Khaliulina, from the NGO "Sana Sezim"). The following issues were considered:
Expert Council under the Ombudsman of Human Rights in Kazakhstan
On 20 February 2018, the expert meeting under the ombudsman of human rights in Kazakhstan was held in Astana. The meeting was attended by members of the Council (from the NGO "Sana Sezim" - Khadicha Abysheva), as well as representatives of UNHCR (Maria Voloshkevich), the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Committee of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
