ROUND TABLE "MIGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT"

On August 6, 2019, a round table “Migration and Development” was held in Shymkent as part of the IOM Project of the United Nations Agency, USAID “Dignity and Rights” together with the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

TRAINING "SAFE MIGRATION WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROJECT OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION LAW"

On August 5, 2019, Shymkent hosted the training “Safe migration within the framework of the project of international migration law” for representatives of state bodies of Turkestan region and Shymkent. The training was carried out as part of the IOM Dignity and Rights project by the UN Agency and USAID in cooperation with the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

4th MEETING OF THE CENTRAL ASIAN NETWORK ON STATELESSNESS

On July 31, 2019, Almaty hosted the 4th Meeting of the Central Asian Network on Statelessness. Participants shared their progress in reducing statelessness as part of the #IBelong campaign, determined the work plan and development strategies of the Network for 2019-20122. Participants: UNHCR representatives, coordinators and Network participants.

JULY 30 - INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING

On July 30, 2019, according to tradition, employees of the NGO Sana Sezim, together with the Organized Crime Control Department of Turkestan Region and Shymkent, as well as the Linear Department of Internal Affairs of Shymkent, conducted a joint campaign among the population in city parks, railway stations, and large shopping centers. This action is aimed at attracting the attention of the general public to the problem of human trafficking and its consequences, the situation of victims of human trafficking and the protection of their rights.

REGIONAL TRAINING-WORKSHOP ON MANAGING LABOR MIGRATION AND PROTECTING MIGRANT WORKERS

On July 8-12, 2019, a regional training-workshop on managing labor migration and protecting migrant workers was held in Nur-Sultan, which brought together representatives of government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations from countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.

TRAINING "WORK STANDARDS WITH AGGRESSORS. LEGAL BASES OF PRACTICAL WORK WITH AGGRESSORS"

On June 24–26, 2019, the training “Work standards with aggressors. Legal bases of practical work with aggressors». The training was organized by the Representative Office of the F. Ebert Foundation together with the Union of Crisis Centers. The trainers from Germany, Landau, representing the Sud-Pfalz Domestic Violence Assistance Center, were invited to the training. The training allowed to increase the level of knowledge for professionals working with children - victims of violence or witnesses, familiarization with methods of working with aggressors, and the dependence of the victim of violence on the rapist.

REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN "NO TO FAMILY VIOLENCE"

On June 24-27, 2019, in Shymkent, together with the Protection of women from violence police unit of Al-Farabi and Karatau regional police departments of Shymkent, the republican campaign “No to Family Violence” was held. The republican campaign was carried out with the aim of preventing domestic violence, protecting mothers and children, informing the public about measures that need to be taken to strengthen the role of the family in society and providing legal advice, as well as promoting hotlines and crisis centers.

EXPERT MEETING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROJECT "STRENGTHENING LEGAL PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS OF MIGRANTS IN KAZAKHSTAN"

On May 20, 2019, an expert meeting was held in Almaty within the framework of the project “Strengthening the Legal Protection of the Rights of Migrants in Kazakhstan”. At the meeting, the projects “Promotion of harmonization of policies of Central Asian countries in the field of labor migration regulation”, “Strengthening the legal protection of the rights of migrants in Kazakhstan” were presented. Participants: representatives of the Public Foundation “Legal Policy Research Center”, as well as representatives of non-governmental and other human rights organizations.

REGIONAL CONSULTATION FOR ENDING SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN IN EASTERN EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA FOR ECPAT INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS

On May 15-16, 2019, Vienna hosted a Regional Consultation on Ending Sexual Exploitation of Children in Eastern Europe and Central Asia for ECPAT International members.

CENTRAL-ASIAN REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON "APPROACHES PRACTICED WITH THE INTERACTION OF THE POLICE WITH THE POPULATION TO ELIMINATE ROOT CAUSES LEADING TO THE SUPPORT OF VIOLENT ACTIONS AND PARTICIPATION IN VIOLENT GROUPS IN COUNTRIES C -5"

On May 02-03, 2019 in Dushanbe, a Central Asian regional conference was held on “Approaches applied in the interaction of the police (police) with the population to eliminate the root causes leading to the support of violent actions and participation in violent groups in countries C -5". During the conference, the parties got acquainted with the work done, and also shared their experience with each other in the field of interaction between law enforcement agencies and the population. Unfortunately, today the population in remote regions continues to ignore and does not want to turn to law enforcement agencies in a particular life situation when their rights are violated or an offense occurs.
