ROUND TABLE “FAMILY WITHOUT VIOLENCE”

June 10, 2020 in akimat of Al-Farabi district of Shymkent, a round table was held on “Family without violence” with the participation of representatives of law enforcement agencies, representatives of akimat and non-governmental organizations. During the round table, the issue of launching the campaign “Family without violence” was discussed; the following reports were also made on the topic of “Early pregnancy among young people” (NGO “Ana Uyi”), “Prevention of youth crime” (Police Department of Shymkent), “Trafficking in human beings” (NGO “Sana Sezim”).

1 JUNE INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY!

Every year since 1950, June 1 marks the International Day for Protection of Children, the goal of which is to draw the attention of adults to respect children's rights to freedom of opinion, education, protection against violence and the right to life. At the level of international law, the main document is the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the UN on November 20, 1989 and ratified by the USSR in 1990. One of the activities of NGO “Sana Sezim” since 2001 is the protection of children's rights. The organization’s employees provide legal, psychological and social assistance to undocumented children, children in difficult situations, children who are victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

DEPARTURE OF EMPLOYEES OF NGO "SANA SEZIM" TO THE BORDER TO PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN AID TO THE CITIZENS OF TAJKISTAN

Employees of NGO “Sana Sezim” received information from the IOM of the UN Agency on Tajik citizens at the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint (Chernyaevka) between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, waiting for the possibility of crossing the border and returning to Tajikistan. While the issue of transit of migrants through the territory of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan is being decided, Tajik citizens remain on the territory of Kazakhstan and are left on their own.

9 SOCIAL BILLBOARDS ON OBTAINING FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN DOCUMENTATION WERE PLACED

Thanks to the cooperation between NGO “Sana Sezim” and Department of internal policy and religious affairs of Shymkent and Department of community development of Turkestan region, 9 social billboards were placed (4 in Shymkent and 5 in the districts of Turkestan region). These billboards contain information on obtaining free legal assistance in documentation.

The provision of free legal assistance to stateless people was made possible thanks to the ongoing project with the support of UNHCR and the Swiss Embassy in Nur-Sultan.

80 FAMILIES RECEIVED HUMANITARIAN AID IN 6 CITIES OF KAZAKHSTAN

May 11, 2020thanks to the support of UN agencies in 6 cities of Kazakhstan, 80 families received humanitarian aid in the form of food baskets and personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NGO “SANA SEZIM” SUPPORTED BY IOM OF THE UN AGENCY AND THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY MANAGED TO DELIVER HUMANITARIAN AID TO SARYAGASH DISTRICT

NGO Sana Sezim received an appeal from a representative of Tajik diaspora with a request to provide humanitarian aid (food, personal hygiene and personal protective equipment) for 12 citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, vulnerable migrants who were stuck on the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan at “Zhybek Zholy” checkpoint, in Saryagash region. They were unable to fly to the Republic of Tajikistan with repatriation flights and today they are in a vulnerable position. They have no work and so far there is no opportunity to go home, due to quarantine due to the state of emergency both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in many countries of the world.

STAFF OF NGO “SANA SEZIM” WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE IOM OF THE UN AGENCY, THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY PROVIDED HUMANITARIAN AID TO 72 CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

On April 13, 2020, the staff of NGO “Sana Sezim”, with the support of the IOM of the UN Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, provided humanitarian assistance (food, hygiene products for newborns) to 72 citizens of the Republic of Moldova. All fell into the category of vulnerable migrants due to the state of emergency due to COVID-19, being in the city of Shymkent, which was quarantined until April 30, 2020.

STAFF OF NGO “SANA SEZIM”, WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE IOM OF THE UN AGENCY, PROVIDED HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE FOR 9 PEOPLE WITH AN UNDEFINED STATUS

On April 03, 2020, the staff of NGO “Sana Sezim”, with the support of the IOM of the UN Agency, provided humanitarian assistance for 9 people with an undefined status, namely, people who once renounced the citizenship of other states and for various reasons could not be further documented in Kazakhstan.

FIRST DEPARTURE OF NGO “SANA SEZIM” STAFF TO THE BORDER OF KAZAKHSTAN AND UZBEKISTAN TO PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN AID TO MIGRANTS

March 28, 2020 the first departure of NGO “Sana Sezim” staff to the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan (Zhybek Zholy checkpoint, former Cherniaevka) was organized to provide humanitarian aid to migrants awaiting the possibility of returning to their homeland. This trip was made possible with the support of the IOM of the UN Agency in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

NATIONAL SEMINAR “REGULATION OF MIGRATION PROCESSES AND IMPLEMENTATION OF REPATRIATION POLICY IN KAZAKHSTAN”

March 12-13, 2020 in Nur-Sultan, the national seminar "Regulation of Migration Processes and the Implementation of Repatriation Policy in Kazakhstan" was organized by IOM in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
