UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ON MIGRATION IN KAZAKHSTAN: NEW CHANGES IN LEGISLATION.

In December 2023, the Head of state signed an action plan in the field of human rights, which paid special attention to migration issues. The plan, consisting of 8 parts and 41 paragraphs, has 6 sections devoted to the rights of migrants, stateless persons and refugees.

Oneof the main stages of the plan's implementation is innovation in national legislation. According to the proposal, a new paragraph has been added to the 5th chapter of the order "Procedure for admission to citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a simplified manner (registration procedure)".

Now, in accordance with the rules of fingerprint and genomic registration approved by Resolution No. 36, a certificate of fingerprinting by a foreigner or a stateless person is attached to the Government's letter of request dated January 31, 2018. The proposed changes are being discussed until January 23.

Additionalinformation about Open NPAs innovations is available on the portal. Employees of the PA LCWI “Sana Sezim” recommend that foreigners and stateless persons undergo a fingerprinting procedure to facilitate the recovery procedure in case of loss of documents.

Accordingto the latest data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of this year, more than 8 thousand foreigners and about 7 thousand Kazakhstanis have carried out fingerprinting. This indicates the high activity of this procedure.
