On December 20, 2023, around table was held in Shymkent: "National mechanisms for the protection of the rights of migrants in the Turkestan region and the city of Shymkent" with the participation of employees of the Shymkent city administration, the Shymkent Employment and Social Protection Department, the Department of the Migration Service of the DP. Shymkent, representatives of the Commissioner for Human Rights for the city of Shymkent and the Turkestan region, Assistant to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan on labor migration with the support of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abishev Tastemir Dautovich and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The main purpose of the round table was to discuss the existing rights of migrants and regular ways of safe and humane migration, to get acquainted with national and international human rights documents and possible situations arising in the migration process, as well as to strengthen cooperation to send migrants to receive necessary services and for interdepartmental coordination.
