On February 8, 2023 an international forum "Partnership as a Tool to Prevent Domestic Violence" was held in the city of Astana, organized by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan. The forum was attended by representatives of state agencies, academic groups, non-governmental organizations and international organizations working on the issue of domestic violence.
During the event, the situation with domestic violence in Kazakhstan, advanced approaches and foreign experience in combating domestic violence were discussed. On the example of Germany, the experience of working with the aggressor in combating domestic violence and work to prevent domestic violence was highlighted.

In addition, the German pilot project to combat domestic violence "ODARA" was presented. The peculiarity of this project is that it allows the use of appropriate measures against the aggressor, assessing the recurrence of domestic violence. Under this project, law enforcement professionals are trained and will implement the pilot phase in the cities of Astana, Almaty and Petropavlovsk.
