INTERNATIONAL ROUND TABLE "USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THE COUNTRIES OF CENTRAL ASIA"
On February 1, 2023 with the support of the Law Enforcement Academy under the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, an international round table on "Using Digital Technology to Combat Trafficking in Persons in Central Asia" took place. The event was attended by law enforcement officials and NGOs working in the area of trafficking in persons from Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Moldova.

Director of the NGO "Sana Sezim" Shakhnoza Khassanova presented at the round table on "Webcam as a method of using ICTs in the sphere of human trafficking". During the presentation it was explained that webcam is a business sphere based on online relationships between web-models and observers, which are usually sexual in nature through video communication. It was also told about the increased risks of web-models getting into human trafficking and about the experience of Kazakhstan and NGO "Sana Sezim" in this field.

As a result of the event participants learned about the digitalization measures in the sphere of trafficking in persons in each country, new opportunities for the use of social networks and digital technologies in the fight against human trafficking.
