INTERAGENCY COMMISSION ON COMBATING TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS
In Astana, the 42nd regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to Combat Illegal Export, Import and Trafficking in Persons under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held. Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Marat Muratovich Akhmetzhanov, the event was attended by representatives of interested parties, including the Chairman of the Public Council for Internal Affairs, Rakhim Oshakbayev, Human Rights Commission under the President of Kazakhstan, OSCE, the International Organization for Migration and the UN Agency for Civil Society, working in the field of combating human trafficking.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed: the presentation of the draft law "On Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Kazakhstan", presented by the Head of the Department for Combating Organized Crime MIA Kazakhstan, Colonel K.B. Nurmagambetov, and RK MFA recommendations for combating human trafficking, presented by the USA Department of State for 2022. They also discussed the results of the "Rodnik" PF project and measures taken by state labor inspectors to identify instances of forced labor.
At the end of the meeting, active representatives of state agencies, NGOs and international organizations received medals "30 Years of Police of the RK" and certificates from the RK Minister of Internal Affairs for contribution to the development of the draft law on combating human trafficking.
