FORUM ON COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN.

With participation of Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel General M.M. Akhmetjanov, acting Head of Mission of International Organization for Migration in Central Asia, Suren Undraa, Commissioner on Human Rights, Mrs. E. Azimova, Commission on Human Rights under the President of RK, Mr. T.D. Abishev, and representatives of Administration of President of RK, deputies, participants of IWG considered draft law "On counteraction against human trafficking in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

A draft law comprising 9 chapters and more than 30 articles was presented.

Minister Akhmetzhanov M.M. noted the need to develop this law, the mechanism of which will really work in practice. Participants of the Forum and IWG provided their recommendations for improving the competence of actors in combating human trafficking. It is expected that this draft law will be further presented to the general public for collection of recommendations.
