A joint evaluation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and KIBHR and NGO “Sana Sezim” partners was conducted. This activity aimed to identify the problems of persons of concern to UNHCR, their stories, potential needs and intentions to change the strategy of solutions aimed at integration and sustainability.

In Shymkent city the Joint Assessment was organised with participation of beneficiaries and partners of NGO “Sana Sezim”. The event was attended by persons with undetermined citizenship, officially recognized stateless persons, employees of the Department of Migration Service of Shymkent city and Turkestan Oblast, also a representative of the Office of the Ombudsman of the RK. The data obtained as a result of the assessment will be used for further development of the strategy of decisions and solution of problematic issues, as well as will be included in the office programs and planning. In addition, key findings from the joint assessment will be forwarded to the Office of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan as a follow-up to the joint findings from the roundtable on statelessness.
