On June 12,2022 on the eve of the World Day Against Child Labor, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan held a meeting of the National Coordinating Council for combating the worst forms of child labor.

First Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection A. Sarbasov, Human Rights Ombudsman E. Azimova, Deputy Akim of Turkistan region S. Kalkamanov and Deputy Akim of Almaty A. Nusupova talked about the situation of child labor in Kazakhstan, the necessary changes and ongoing activities in Turkistan region and the city of Almaty. Also, during the meeting, the issues of approval in the current legislation list of light work for children aged 14 to 16 outside school hours, as well as measures to combat the worst forms of child labor were discussed. We hope that the discussed issues in the near future will find solutions and help make the lives of children safer.
