On May 27, 2022 in Shymkent city round table "Support of Tajik migrants in Kazakhstan" were held within the project "Tajik migrants, their families who found themselves in difficult life situations because of COVID-19, and victims of TIP in Kazakhstan", implemented by the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim". During the round table, which was attended by representatives of government organizations and Tajik diasporas, the goals and expected results of the project were noted.

During the roundtable, participants were introduced to the planned activities to achieve the goals such as developing a map of services and establishing links between Tajik migrant communities, state agencies and local service providers to provide legal and psychological counseling and livelihood support, and to obtain information about existing available government programs and resources in these areas. At the end of the round table, it was noted that in order to improve the situation of Tajik migrants, close cooperation between the state, NGOs and diasporas is necessary, and the importance of joint activities was emphasized.

The event was held under the project "Tajik migrants, their families who found themselves in difficult life situations because of COVID-19, and victims of TIP in Kazakhstan" implemented from 18 May 2022 in Shymkent city and Maktaaral and Saryagash districts of Turkistan region. This project is a component of the USAID-funded "Safe Migration in Central Asia" project implemented by Winrock International.
