INTERNATIONAL ROUNDTABLE "FORCED BEGGING AS A FORM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN CENTRAL ASIA"

On January 28, 2022, the International Roundtable "Forced Begging as a Form of Human Trafficking in Central Asia" was held with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan and the Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor's Office

"Forced begging as a form of trafficking in persons in Central Asian countries". Representatives of law enforcement agencies, NGOs and educational institutions from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, as well as various religious denominations addressed the issues of begging from different angles. Considered the best practices in countering begging and developed a number of recommendations on this deviance phenomenon. During the international roundtable, the director of NGO "Sana Sezim" Shakhnoza Khassanova spoke on "Interaction of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" with law enforcement agencies to prevent forced begging and protect victims of trafficking. During her speech, she familiarized the roundtable participants with the cases of begging in the practice of "Sana Sezim" center, discussed the solutions of cases as a result of partnership with other organizations, at the end of her speech she gave recommendations to reduce begging.
