On November 9, 2021 the first meeting of the Coordination Working Group under the UNICEF, UN Women and European Union program in the Republic of Kazakhstan "EU-UN Support to Central Asian States for their citizens returned from conflict zones, especially from Syria and Iraq - Component 1" took place.

The program will maintain close liaison with government agencies, international and non-governmental organizations such as the MFA, the MES of the RK, the ENU, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the RK, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the RK, UNICEF, UN Women and the European Union in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting the main components of the program were presented and the work plan was approved, the terms of reference were discussed and the final composition of the Coordination Working Group was approved. In addition, representatives of stakeholders were introduced to the process of creating a resource center in partnership with universities to accumulate best practices in Kazakhstan.
