On November 4, 2021 three Russian language teachers of Shymkent city started working on a Russian language course on Akelius platform for children aged 5 to 17 in the framework of the program "Improving Russian language skills among vulnerable groups of children for integration and better learning outcomes, especially children in migration processes and children returned from conflict zones" with the support of the PA LCWI "Sana Sezim" together with the UNICEF office in Kazakhstan and the Committee for Pre-school and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan.

Russian language teachers in three schools in the city formed classes of children and adolescents who do not have access to schools or language classes, or who are severely behind to be able to join formal education. Tablets, headphones, chargers and quality Internet connections were purchased for the children. Children will benefit from Russian language courses on the Akelius platform, which aims to introduce and expand a blended learning approach and supports the teaching of Russian in the classroom as well as support with homework. The Russian language course on the Akelius platform will be tested and validated in Shymkent, and lessons learned will be taken into account to further improvement of the platform.
