The three-day event brings together government officials, international organizations and civil society representatives from 57 countries to discuss the issue of demand as a key long-term strategy for eradicating human trafficking. The aim of such a wide-ranging event is to raise the political profile of the fight against human trafficking and to discuss emerging themes and trends in human trafficking.

On the first day, participants learned about the demand side of human trafficking through different lenses and stakeholder experiences. On the second day, speakers briefed participants on preventing the demand for trafficking for labour and sexual exploitation and the resources available to strengthen protection measures. Today, on the last day of the event, the next steps in combating demand and ways of implementation will be highlighted.
