TRAINING ON BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF STATE AGENCY REPRESENTATIVES TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

On May 21, 2021 within the USAID-funded and Winrock International-implemented “Safe Migration in Central Asia” project, a training on "Building the Capacity of State Agency Representatives to Provide Services to Victims of Human Trafficking" was conducted.

The training began with opening remarks by Eleanor Valentine, head of the USAID “Safe Migration in Central Asia” Project. During the training, employees of the Department of Health, the Department of Education and the Department of State Labor Inspectorate of Shymkent learned about the problem of human trafficking, signs, types, causes and risk groups of human trafficking. Trainers shared their knowledge of international and Kazakhstani law and their experiences in identifying victims of trafficking. During the group discussions, participants not only consolidated their knowledge, but also had the opportunity to learn more about other participants, thus assisted the improvement of interagency cooperation in identifying and assisting victims of trafficking. We hope that the knowledge will be useful to the participants.
