INTERNATIONAL MIGRANT DAY

International Migrant Day is celebrated at the suggestion of the UN General Assembly annually, December 18, since 2000. On this day in 1990, the UN General Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.

The General Assembly resolution invited all UN member states, governmental and non-governmental organizations to celebrate the International Day of Migrants on the basis of activities to disseminate information about human rights and fundamental freedoms of migrants, exchange experience and develop measures to ensure their protection.

In a short video clip below, we would like to share with you about the humanitarian assistance provided by the staff of the NGO "Sana Sezim" to migrant workers during the COVID-19 quarantine.
