On August 17-18, 2020,in Turkestan, government agencies, civil sector, development partners and international organizations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held an online meeting to discuss and study the experience of mechanisms of the national interagency system for responding to gender-based violence. The exchange of experience between the countries of Central Asia was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening national capacities to improve the prevention and response of gender-based violence in Central Asia”, implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with financial support from the UK government.

Eliminating violence against women requires a unified approach and a comprehensive and coordinated system of working with victims of violence and gender-based aggressors. Interdepartmental response to gender-based violence is one of the ways to prevent the timely detection and elimination of cases of gender-based violence.
