THE 3RD FORUM OF SOCIAL WORKERS ORGANIZED BY THE MINISTRY OF LABOR AND SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

On August 12, 2020the organization NGO "Sana Sezim" took part in the 3rd Forum of Social Workers organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MLSPP), which was held on ZOOM platform. The forum was attended by 500 participants, representatives of government agencies and university teachers, as well as foreign colleagues, speakers from Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and the United States.

At the plenary session "Social work in new conditions", very important topics were discussed: "Further improvement of social assistance mechanisms for citizens in need", "Systemic problems and approaches to the development of social services", "Presentation of the testing and training program for social workers in 2020". Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Muratovich Aukenov, Director of the Department for Development of Social Services Policy of the MLSPP Sadvokasova Damezhan Toleubaevna, Director of the National Resource Center for Social Work Raisova Lira Fazylovna spoke on these topics. After the plenary session, the forum itself took place, which consisted of 4 sessions:

SESSION 1 "Innovative models of social services"

SESSION 2 "Management in social work: problems, risks and solutions"

SESSION 3 "The system of university training of social workers"

SESSION 4 "Professional development of social workers"

Foreign speakers shared their practice in the field of services for children with disabilities, provision of rehabilitation means.

The forum was useful and interesting, it was evident from the active discussions between sessions. The participants of the forum from Kazakhstan suggested that more often gather specialists in social work from all regions of Kazakhstan to exchange experience and improve the quality of social work. It was also noted that it is very important to improve university training in the specialty "Social Work" and improve the skills of practicing social workers. A program of testing and training for social workers was presented to the forum participants.
