ORGANIZED ANOTHER TRIP TO THE ZHYBEK ZHOLY CHECKPOINT IN SARYAGASH DISTRICT OF TURKESTAN REGION

On July 13, 2020,the staff of NGO “Sana Sezim”, with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the European Union, organized another trip to the Zhybek Zholy checkpoint in Saryagash district of Turkestan region, on the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Republic of Uzbekistan. The purpose of the trip was to provide humanitarian aid to migrants awaiting the opening of borders that were closed during the state of emergency in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

This humanitarian aid reached over 90 citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, including women and children awaiting return to their homeland. Everyone was provided with masks, gloves, sanitizers, drinking water. Migrants who were at the Zhybek Zholy checkpoint had previously worked in various cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and were in a vulnerable position due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as they did not manage to leave the Republic of Kazakhstan before the borders were closed. Having received personal protective equipment, all migrants expressed gratitude to the organization of NGO “Sana Sezim”, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the European Union.
