1 JUNE INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY!

Every year since 1950, June 1 marks the International Day for Protection of Children, the goal of which is to draw the attention of adults to respect children's rights to freedom of opinion, education, protection against violence and the right to life. At the level of international law, the main document is the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the UN on November 20, 1989 and ratified by the USSR in 1990. One of the activities of NGO “Sana Sezim” since 2001 is the protection of children's rights. The organization’s employees provide legal, psychological and social assistance to undocumented children, children in difficult situations, children who are victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. During the emergency period, in connection with COVID-19 in Shymkent and Turkestan region 45 children were covered with humanitarian aid, of which 21 were children of migrants. From April 20, 2020 to April 19, 2021, the organization launched a project supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) “Protecting children in migration processes in the city of Shymkent and in Turkestan region”. Project goal: “Children in migration processes are protected and enjoy their rights.”
