On April 03, 2020, the staff of NGO “Sana Sezim”, with the support of the IOM of the UN Agency, provided humanitarian assistance for 9 people with an undefined status, namely, people who once renounced the citizenship of other states and for various reasons could not be further documented in Kazakhstan.

Thanks to the joint project of the NGO “Sana Sezim” and UNHCR, the Swiss Embassy in Nur Sultan, applicants are currently receiving free legal assistance in documenting. It should be noted that undocumented persons are in an extremely vulnerable situation with a declared emergency, both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and throughout the world. In addition, the absence of valid documents not only deprives the right to register the birth of children in the families of undocumented persons, but also to receive social benefits during quarantine. The cooperation of international organizations with national non-governmental organizations provides an opportunity to effectively and easily resolve the difficulties encountered by the target group during a pandemic.
