On November 15-16, 2019 in Tashkent, a training seminar "Improving the capacity of lawyers of the NGO network of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to cooperate in assisting victims of human trafficking" was held. The seminar was organized by the RSIC “ISTIQBOLLI AVLOD”. The seminar was attended by lawyers from non-governmental organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The training allowed increasing the level of knowledge for specialists working to combat human trafficking.

The topic of how to increase the capacity of lawyers of the NGO network of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to cooperate in assisting victims of human trafficking was revealed at the seminar. Rights and obligations of victims of human trafficking according to international/national standards and best practices. Problems in the legislation of countries of origin and destination. The practice of psychological and social assistance to victims in preparation for cooperation with law enforcement agencies. Suggestions and recommendations for combining criminal prosecution efforts were discussed. Development of a mechanism for cooperation and a protocol of intent for criminal prosecution in trafficking.
