MEETING WITH DEPUTY AKIM OF THE NORTH-KAZAKHSTAN REGION
30 September, 2019, in Petropavlovsk meeting with the Deputy Akim of North Kazakhstan Region Askar Sakipkereyev, heads of the departments of coordination of employment and social programs, the migration service, specialists working with oralmans and representatives of NGOs from other regions of Kazakhstan was held.
At the meeting, questions were raised on providing assistance in accordance with the Standards of Special Social Services for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, what kind of work is being done in this direction and what measures have been taken to provide assistance. One of the important issues on ethnic migration and documentation of migrants was also raised at the meeting. These are the citizens who returned to their ethnic homeland and decided to reunite with it. These are, of course, oralmans, for whom all conditions are created for the speediest adaptation and integration into Kazakhstani society. Also, an important issue is internal migration (interaction between regions, issues on creating conditions for arrivals and local people). At the moment, Petropavlovsk is one of the favorable directions for internal migration, and to date, 240 families have been settled in the North Kazakhstan region, and 71 families are from Turkestan region.
