PROJECT "TOGETHER AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING OF CSOS!"

On April 1, 2019, the NGO Sana Sezim launched the “Together against human trafficking through capacity building of CSOs!” Project, funded by the Department of State’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. The 36-month-long project aims to increase access to justice for victims of trafficking by building the organizational capacity of civil society organizations and the judicial system to combat human trafficking in Kazakhstan.

In this regard, a network of organizations was created from 11 regions (Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Aktau, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Karaganda, Petropavlovsk, Shymkent, Taraz, Ust-Kamenogorsk), which will conduct information campaigns, as well as provide legal and social assistance to victims of human trafficking (11 lawyers will work). Within the framework of the Project, trainings are planned for representatives of public organizations/lawyers in the city of Shymkent, summer camps for volunteers from 11 regions of Kazakhstan, the release of information material (a guide for government agencies, NGOs, booklets, magazines), as well as an analysis of legislation in the field of trafficking in persons subsequent recommendations for the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
