18th Conference of the Alliance to Combat Trafficking in Persons

From 23 – 24 April 2018, the 18th conference of the alliance to combat trafficking in persons was held in Vienna, Hofburg (Austria).

The main objective of the 18th Conference of the Alliance on Combating Trafficking in Persons is to further promote the concept of a comprehensive partnership to improve coherence in efforts to combat trafficking in persons and improve cooperation at the local, national, regional and international levels. The conference provided an opportunity to discuss existing established partnership modalities in the fight against trafficking in persons, and also presented the benefits of attracting key partners that remain insufficiently involved such as doctors, teachers, financial investigators, businesses, municipal authorities, media, local citizens' associations and religious organizations that remain "invisible" in the context of traditional multi-disciplinary interaction. From the NGO "Sana Sezim" participated- Khadicha Abysheva. Particular attention was also paid to the "added value" of attracting new partners to the work on combating human trafficking. The conference also supported the discussion on the key role of the multi-disciplinary approach in fast detection and prevention of crime, as well as the identification of potential and alleged victims and their further redirection and rehabilitation.
