Training for Members of the ASTRA Network

From 23 – 24 April 2018, the training on the use of international tools and mechanisms in the field of human rights took place in Zagreb (Croatia).

The training has become a unique event to enhance the knowledge of participants on existing international human rights instruments, such as the Universal Periodic Review, the Special Rapporteurs or the Treaty Bodies. During the training, the participating ASTRA Network members examined the monitoring of the implementation of their countries’ Sustainable Development Goals and learned more about the Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2030. The main goal of the meeting was to provide ASTRA Network members with new knowledge and skills, encourage participants to interact with various mechanisms and processes, and provide space for discussion and exchange of experience and knowledge.

Experts from the Sexual Rights Initiative and the International Women's Health Coalition (Stuart Halford, Sandeep Prasad, Rachel Jacobson) shared their knowledge and experience. The training was attended by members of the ASTRA Network (from the NGO "Sana Sezim" participated - Shakhnoza Khassanova) from 18 countries.
