Training “Human Rights and Conscientious Employment of foreign Workers”

From 12-13 June 2017, the training “Human Rights and Conscientious Employment of foreign Workers” was conducted for representatives of state and law enforcement agencies, regional NGOs (from the NGO "Sana Sezim participated Liliya Khaliulin, lawyer), Embassies and Consulates, as well as UN agencies in Almaty.

This training is part of the National Training Course (2016-2020), conducted by the IOM sub regional Coordination Office for Central Asia.

The purpose of the course is to identify and discuss the main problems and tasks in the field of international migration, to promote a better understanding of migration and to strengthen mechanisms for cooperation between governments and other stakeholders to solve problems in an integrated and effective manner. The course was organized and conducted within the framework of USAID's "Dignity and Rights" project in Central Asia.

The participants of the course got acquainted with specific factors of abuse of labor mobility that make migrants more vulnerable; the consequences of unethical hiring for workers, their families, employers and host communities; role / necessity of international cooperation to solve the problems of international employment; various mobility models and mechanisms designed to address the problem of unfair hiring.
