On 18 May 2017, the third regional meeting of the Central Asian network on Statelessness was held in Almaty.

Purpose of the regional meeting:

• Present a new website of the Central Asian Civil Society Network on Statelessness.
• Develop effective and improved information coordination among members of the Network, and between UNHCR and the Network.
• Expand the membership of the Network by the involvement of academia and the media sector.
• Discuss the main points for the presentation of the Network's activities at the NGO Consultations on Statelessness in Geneva.
• Develop an implementation plan on the activities in 2017-2018.
• Share best practices of the Canadian Network on Statelessness.

Representatives of the civil society and academia of Central Asia participated in the regional meeting.  As a result of the meeting, the participants made a special contribution to the web page of the Network, developed an action plan for 2017-2018 and worked out the main points for the presentation of the Network's activities at NGO Consultations on Statelessness in Geneva.
