On 25 June, 2016, the republican conference “Kazakhstan, Friendly to the Child” was held.

Objective: unification of efforts of state, non-governmental and public organizations in solving urgent issues of ensuring the rights of children in accordance with international standards. From the NGO "Sana Sezim" participated in the mode of videoconferencing - Zhekenov Daulet, lawyer.

Objectives of the event:

• Combining the efforts of state, non-governmental and public organizations under the auspices of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, elaborating a recommendation on common approaches to the protection of children's rights for 2016-2020;
• presentation and synthesis of experience in the protection of children's rights of state bodies and non-governmental organizations
• development of recommendations on the topic and content of social projects needed to support the state (in the form of a state social order) at the national level;
• implementation of the recommendations of the 70th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child following the consideration of the 4th national report of Kazakhstan to the UN on the situation of children in the republic;
• determination of the procedure and selection of representatives to the Public Council under the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child and representatives of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child at the regional (oblast) level.

According to the results of the republican conference following recommendations were adopted:

1. To take the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendations of the 70th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child for 2016-2020 as the basis for joint actions of state bodies and non-governmental organizations. Ensure a broad discussion of the Action Plan and submit proposals to the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Children of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the working body of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Central and local government bodies, NGOs).
2. To build working groups from the representatives of state bodies and NGOs, to identify the coordinators of the working groups for the further practical implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendation of the 70th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child for 2016-2020 (coordinator - MES RK).
3. With the aim of practical implementation of socially significant initiatives, to support the proposals of the conference participants on a list of project ideas that require financial support from the state and international organizations, ensure their promotion and implementation at the national and local levels (central and local government bodies, NGOs).
4. To adopt the basis of draft proposals on the Public Council and Representatives of the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, to participate in the implementation of the mechanism for their appointment (Central and local government bodies, NGOs).
5. Consolidate the efforts of civil society and state bodies in holding thematic round tables, dialogue platforms and other events to implement the adopted decisions of the conference in preparation for the international conference "Kazakhstan, friendly to the child" in November 2016 (Central and local government bodies, NGOs).
