Project Timeline:1 January 2017 - 31 December 2019
Geography project: Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and South Kazakhstan regions.
Objectives:

• Through undertaking missions to all districts in Kyzylorda, Zhambyl and South-Kazakhstan regions and conducting meetings with the local authorities, the Partner will gather information on a number and the profiles of stateless persons in the region, as well as sensitize the Government to the need of improving the administrative practices of handling stateless cases;
• Through undertaking necessary interventions with the local authorities, provision of legal counseling and legal representation in the courts where necessary, assistance to obtain necessary documents from relevant authorities of Kazakhstan and Embassies/consulates, solutions in the form of obtaining/confirming nationality, obtaining national ID documents, etc., will be provided to estimated 70 stateless persons.
